What can we tell with our clothes?
This is my first forum post.

Has anyone noticed how different clothing styles can effect to the people around u?
I have been making some tests lately..lol
perhaps slightly as a result of getting bit bored but mostly because i want to know how much i can choose the type of people who will aproach me in any circumstances.
I'm new here, so.. for the people who do not know anything about me (meaning all of you)
i have lately desided to become a muslim. after 2 year of silent research I'm still seriously lacking the influence of any muslim community. And for my family which dosnt know about my spiritual awakening i cant yet even consider wearing hijab.
but
here's some reasults of my explore at the streets of my city.
1.
if i wear my normal boring clothes ( old jeans, jacket, cloves, eyglasses)
most people will ignore me, but all who wants to sell something, get names for campaigns and also money beggars will aproach me. if i go to customer service i wont get good service.
2.
if i wear my better clothes (new trousers, same jacket, expensive looking scarf on my neck, no eye glasses)
most people ignore me, but old people come easily to ask help with directions. the sellers wont bother, but in the customer service everything works better.
3.
if i wear my party clothes (the knee high skirt with thick thights, boots, the same jacket and that expensive looking scarf on my neck, glasses or no glasses) Then most people ignore me, but drunk men and jehova whitnesses try to aproach me and foreign men give an eyes.
4.
if i wear my loose clothes (loose jeans, the same jacket and boots, eyeglasses) im almost invisible. it's horrible if everyone is ignoring even at the shops.
5.
if i wear my loose jeans combined with my better clothes and wearing a scarf as hijab. People give eyes O_o, and muslim men give smiles or winks. that was uncomfortable.
the biggest thing i really got bothered in all my explorings, is the lack of any approach from women or women of my age. perhaps it was just a coinsident because the people in my country r not so into small talk...
but a question for u.
Do u think women r not so easily aproaching anyone at the streets? If u have to ask direction, who would u rather ask a man or a woman?
i guess the point in my research was to find a clothe combination which would be stylish, but still not atract the interest of males...
i'm not sure if i succeeded or no.

For example, when I was just wearing my hijab, an abaya, no makeup, being very plain looking, I was still constantly hit on...lol...even now, in niqab, I have men hitting on me from time to time. Just sayin u can't expect it to completely stop...

Dont worry about what people think of you. It's Pointless. I'm white and married to an Indian. So what? I wear salwar kameez sometimes, abaya...and rarely normal pants. So what? We are not robots. Everyone is so different, and all cultares are so rich with beauty why be so limiting to worry about that so much? I used to worry about my clothes when I was younger
But...I find your post confuseing, so I hope I didn't go off topic to much.

Assalaamu Aleikum!
Kinda weird to hear that. I've never been teased in anyway during my stays in Cairo. Im a hijabi sister and you can tell by my looks that I'm european. No one ever tried anything with me, even I've been out there alone many times. Well, hamdulillaah, lucky me :D In Saudi-Arabia I got annoyed of the attention I was getting and started to wear niqab there.
