Assalamoalaikum wr wb.

There seems to be a lot of debate about hijabless pics on Muslim space, etc. Some people are offended especially those muslimahs practicing hijab and want to see the space clean. Also there are those who are trying to strengten thier faith and thus still use hijabless pics.

I was just curious to know what is the MuslimSPace verdict on this so that it might lay to rest some of the debates.

Jazakallah

BTW if they are allowed then there needs to be a culture of encouraging hijab and where there are totally bad pics then these need to reported and removed.

they forget that we had a poll about this and the sisters that wanted no hijabless pics  one but it didnt matter because they alowd it any way since they changed muslim space. they should put a another poll and vote on it again that would be fair.

thank you fro saying this. wish i would have known that this site does not wish to have pics like mine up. that would have saved me a lot of heartache.

MashaAllah bro, couldn't have said it better! Thats exactly how we feel, and we do take down totally bad pics upon receiving reports from the community.

Assalam Alaykum,
Is that the final decision then? To allow hijabless pics?

Offensive pics will not be allowed on MS under any circumstances. But till further notice, modest pics even if non-hijabbed are allowed on the site. There is no excuse for brothers not to lower their gaze beyond the first look, which is forgiven by the Lord. We believe a certain amount of responsibility falls on the brothers since they were also addressed to lower their gaze in the Holy Quran.

Further, we feel that MuslimSpace should reflect the true image of the real Ummah even if its not perfect. There is no use of acting all pious and hijabbed online, while the reality is different. We hope to foster a friendly environment, where members don't judge each other and we all try to benefit from our collective knowledge and try to improve each other in the deen. That also includes Muslims who are NOT sitting in the masjid memorizing Quran 24/7. The ones who are not well connected with their Muslim identity are the ones who most need our support and encouragement. We felt that alienating them through the Hijab rule, was undermining our overall efforts of reaching and helping all Muslims.

Finally, I personally support and enourage Hijab, both for pleasing Allah and for protecting one's identity online.
